ClickCease seamlessly integrates to your WordPress based website. With just a few clicks you can install our tracking code to your website.
There are two ways for you to do that, manually and using the ClickCease plugin.*
This article will explain how to manually install ClickCease's tracking code on your WordPress based website.
Step 1 - Get your ClickCease Tracking code:
Log in to your ClickCease dashboard and go do Domain Settings > Domain Tracking Setup. Under the Tracking Code section, copy the code to your clipboard.
Step 2 - Install ClickCease Tracking Code on Your Landing Pages:
Login to your WordPress back-end.
On the left side pane, click Appearance > scroll to Theme Editor.
Find and open your "Theme Header" (header.php) file on the right side pane.
On the code text editor, locate the
<body>tag and paste the tracking code right beneath the
<body> tag might show up differently on the online code editor.
<body <?php body_class(); ?>>, but in general, this is where the
body section begins. Paste the Tracking Code on the line below.
5. Save your changes and you're all set!
In rare occasions WordPress might show the following error when you try to save changes to the Theme Header (header.php) file:
"Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP."
This error is not related to ClickCease's Tracking Code. Instead, this is often caused by a plugin (or server configuration) that prevents WordPress from verifying code errors in your .php files. For this reason, it prevents any further updates to a .php file.
To fix this, deactivate all plugins momentarily, and re-attempt to save the changes to the header.php file.
